“I don’t get vests. What, is it winter in your torso but summer in your arms? ” – Tim Lockwood
Number of Times Seen – 1 (8 Jan 2015)
Brief Synopsis – Flint Lockwood must now deal with the fact that his machine has begun to create living food monsters.
My Take on it – Last week, we had a snow day and the kids wanted to watch this sequel, so we popped it in to see whether it was as good as the original.
Unfortunately, the consensus was that it is not as good.
We all liked the way that they thought of some great combinations for the food monsters and there were some funny scenes here and there.
Clearly missing (for me) was the voice talent of Mr. T. Who was replaced here by Terry Crews. Crews was good, but it’s hard to fit into T. Sized shoes properly.
The storyline itself isn’t too interesting and it just didn’t work as well as the original one did.
Family friendly and can be humorous at times, but it’s probably more for the kids than adults.
The original is by far more interesting and entertaining.
Bottom Line – Not nearly as good as the original. Clever use and creation of the food monsters. Ok family fun.
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

I agree completely. I was disappointed in this one.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 isn’t the most original tale or even the funniest, but it is pleasant at least.

Definitely agree on the lack of Mr. T. My daughter loved the first one, but we all thought this one was just decent.
