“That guy down there… is me. I’m in Garland, Texas. And it may look like zombies destroyed it, but that’s actually just Garland.” – Columbus
Number of Times Seen – 2 (29 Nov 2009 and 18 Jan 2015)
Brief Synopsis – Following a zombie outbreak, lone survivors seek out family, love, celebrities and most importantly Twinkies
My Take on it – When I saw this the first time back in 2009, I had yet to start watching The Walking Dead or even to realize that I enjoy Zombie movies so much.
So suffice it to say, I was able to enjoy and appreciate this much more this time around than then.
This is such a fun zombie flick because it doesn’t take itself seriously at all and it is a thoughful yet comedic look at a world populated by zombies.
The characters (who don’t have real names but are referred to by their hometowns) are all interesting to watch and the dialogue between them all is superbly written.
Jesse Eisenberg is a great narrator and is able to explain about their world in a humorous fashion which means he hasn’t gone crazy yet knowing the fact that the world is bring overrun by zombies.
The zombie kills are done amazingly using the right kind of realistic effects.
The best part of this movie tho is by far the fact that Bill Murray has an awesome cameo as himself.
Bottom Line – Very fresh, light and humorous movie about a post zombie apocalypse. Great characters, fun narration and lots of zombie kills. Bill Murray is great in a cameo. Recommended!
Rating – Globe Worthy

A slow-mo zombie killing spree to the sound of Metallica is the greatest way to open a film, regardless of what it’s about.

I prefer the snowballs to the twinkies myself.
