Playing it Cool (2014)

PlayingItCool“Happiness and marriage don’t co-exist.  There’s a reason that Romeo killed himself; suicide was the best option for this guy” – Samson

Number of Times Seen – 1 (11 Feb 2015)

Brief Synopsis – A struggling screenwriter meets a girl at a charity event and decides to do whatever it takes to win her heart.

My Take on it – I had hoped that a rom-com featuting Chris Evans and Michelle Monaghan would be much better, but this felt so mediocre that it seemed to crying for help the entire time without any rescue in sight.

The only scenes I truly enjoyed were the ones where Evans and his very ecclectic group of friends discuss relationships. Luke Wilson and Eric Forman.. I mean Topher Grace are hilarious.

Bottom Line – Pretty mediocre rom com. Very funny scenes when the groups of friends get together to discuss relationships, but otherwise it isn’t anything special.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Every t-shirt that Topher Grace’s character, Scott, wears has a reference to Gabriel García Márquez’s book “Love in the Time of Cholera.”  (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy
