Mad Max (1979)

mad max“They say people don’t believe in heroes anymore. Well, damn them! You and me, Max, we’re gonna give ’em back their heroes!” – Fifi

Number of Times Seen – 1  (12 Feb 2015)

Brief Synopsis – In a futuristic world where the roads are ruled by violent gangs, a group of police officers try to keep the peace and keep the citizens safe.

My Take on it – I have heard so much about this movie for so many years and expected something so much better than what I got.

The movie took an eternity to get to its point and when it did, it all happened in a span of less than 15 minutes.

I wanted to feel for the characters, but it was too difficult because there wasn’t really anything to care about.

The only redeeming factor in this movie was the action sequences at the end, but unfortunately it was too little too late.

Bottom Line – This movie took so long to get to its point and wasn’t very entertaining along the way. The ending is the only good part.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Tim Burns (Johnny the Boy) was so into character that he annoyed everyone on set, and was abandoned one day during lunch while handcuffed to the wreck.  (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy

  2. This film will always remain an entertaining cult classic for me. Love to watch it at least once a year. All 3 for that matter lol. I guess we dis-agree on this one. Good post, Rob!
