“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… Dyin’ time’s here.” – Dr. Dealgood
Number of Times Seen – 1 (12 Feb 2015)
Brief Synopsis – Max comes across a society ruled by two classes and must obey the laws of the city in order to survive
My Take on it – I remember hearing about this movie as a kid and expected to see a fun movie about gladiators in a futuristic arena, instead I got a lame carbon copy of a mix between Lord of the Flies and Spartacus.
The plot here ventures into the absurd and silly at times and regrettably, the highlight is Tina Turner’s song that opens the end credits.
Hear it here:
Bottom Line – High expectation killed this one for me. Great song by Tina Turner during the credits is the highlight here.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The sandstorm at the end of the film was real, and a camera plane actually did fly into it for some shots. The storm in its entirety hit the crew in the desert, forcing them to ride it out in their cars and wherever they could find cover. (From IMDB)

I love this Tina Turner song!! I liked this film when I was a kid, but I think it was mostly due to the costumes and the fact it was filmed in the Australia.
