Number of Times Seen – 1 (19 Feb 2015)
Brief Synopsis – 5 years after the events of the previous movie, Hiccup comes across a nest of dragons under the control of a mysterious dragon rider and must find a way to keep continued peace between humans and dragons
My Take on it – I remember seeing the teaser for this movie over a year ago and being amazed by the look of just that short clip.
This movie has once again raised the bar on the look and feel of animated movies.
The flight scenes are breathtaking and this movie has numerous parts that make you forget that you are watching an animated movie instead of something real.
One day, I predict we will reach a point where animation will work as fluidly as live action and then actors will start to have to worry about their futures.
Until then, we can all continue to be amazed and wondered by the advances animation has achieved over the years.
Regarding the storyline, I gotta say that I enjoyed it, but I still felt it wasn’t as good as the first movie’s arc. Yes, this one has some more emotionally charged elements added to the mix, but I had hoped it could surpass the original’s storyline and slightly missed the mark.
Bottom Line – Definitely a fun and emotionally packed sequel that builds on the storyline from the first one, but just isn’t as good. Amazingly animated and once again animation has taken another step forward to showing the wonder of how animation can look and feel more and more real as time has gone by. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Astrid asks Eret “Don’t you know anything?” when he asks her to move her dragon off him. This is a nod to Game Of Thrones, where Jon Snow, another Kit Harington character is often told the similar statement “You know nothing” by Ygritte (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
