Brief Synopsis – After their spaceship is attacked, two droids set off on a quest to find a aged warrior who will help them deliver secret plans to the rebellion.

My Take on it – I finally had the opportunity this week to sit down and watch the first Star Wars movie with three of my kids; aged 10, 8 and 3.

I wasn’t sure whether they would enjoy it enouh or not, but even my skeptical 10 year old agreed after five minutes that he wanted to watch the whole thing.

Yes, they asked A LOT of questions, but a huge advantage to having a super SW fan as a dad is that I patiently paused the movie whenever necessary to answer their questions and enjoy their comments. (It helped also that I knew all the answers, even the spoiler ones)

My 3 year old daughter kept asking me what Chewbacca’s name was and when she would repeat it back to me perfectly, I truly almost cried out of sheer happiness.

I wish they had been giving the opportunity to see this on the big screen, but I’m at least consoled that perhaps I’ll be able to take the two older ones to see the new one in December.

This is truly one of my favorite movies of all time and there is no better franchise out there (despite a few that come close).

Watching it with my kids proves once sgain how this movie caters to so many people if all ages because it is jam packed with action, adventure, humor, amazingly original locations, unbelievable special effects and of course the ultimate battle between good and evil.

If you’ve never seen this, you dont know what you’re missing.

May the Force be with you…Always

Bottom Line – Always a wonderous moviewatching experience. One of my favorite movies of all time and by far my favorite movie franchise. Packed to the brim with action, adventure, exotic locations, humor and the ultimate fight between good and evil. Highly highly recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – During the scene on the Death Star right after Ben leaves to shut down the tractor beam, Chewbacca barks something to Luke to which Han says “Boy, you said it Chewie”. Backstage footage reveals that what Chewie says is “The old man’s gone mad”. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy (no change from original review)

  2. Not quite the same as showing your kids but I’m going to have my girlfriend experience this film for the first time. I’m hoping it unlocks a love for Star Wars too but I’m not holding my breath.
