The idea behind this feature (Genre Guesstimation) is for me to watch a bunch of new movies (or ones that I haven’t seen many times) from the chosen monthly GG genre in order to expand my knowledge of movies within that particular genre.
This month’s Genre was chosen by Anna of Film Grimoire and she chose Latin Directed Films as the Genre for March. If you want to still submit a movie, the deadline is 27 March. Just send it to me at latin@movierob.net
Let’s see if I felt that this movie would be worthy of being in the company of my others favorite movies in the genre of Latin Directed movies…
“This isn’t the beginning, it’s the first thought that came to mind. My memories have the same order as my life, the same kind a kids getting dressed follows.” – Martin Martin
Number of Times Seen – 1 (10 Mar 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A Professor wins a trivia contest and realizes that his life is now more complicated than it was beforehand.
My Take on it – This movie reminded me so much of the courses from high school and college dealing with economics that I couldn’t stand then and still now.
The characters felt like they were constantly lecturing the audience about boring economuc theories while trying to show that financial life changing events don’t necessarily make you rich or happy
Watching this story unfold in its very non linear fashion was a grueling experience.
I didnt care much about what would happen to the story and characters and I am thankful for this movie’s relatively short running time.
Glad director Cortes was able to bounce back afterwards and still bring us some great movies like Buried (2010)
Bottom Line – Very boring film that really felt like one of my economics lectures back in high school or college that bored me to death.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Director Rodrigo Cortes’ feature length movie debut
Genre Grandeur Worthy? – Not in the least. Felt like a bad lecture in Economics.
Rating – Razzie Worthy

Nothing worse than feeling like you’re being lectured by a movie. It’s supposed to be entertainment dammit! 😉
