Brief Synopsis – A man trying to move on with his life following his wife’s death is tasked with raising his granddaughter after his son is sent to prison.
My Take on it – It would be wrong to say or think that Michael Douglas or Diane Keaton are bad actors, but I must say that many of their recent choices for movies have been less than stellar.
This movie was really really uninteresting to watch and I kept hoping that the characters wouldn’t conform to the rom-com formula and wouldn’t end up together in the end because they were both so annoying to watch together.
There was no chemistry whatsoever between any of the characters and I didn’t care what would happen to any of them.
Having spent the past month watching all of Rob Reiner’s movies as director, I can honestly say that this is one of his worst outings.
Let’s hope that his next choice will be much better!
Bottom Line – Really uninteresting movie. No chemistry between the characters at all. Surprised that such acclaimed actors and director would choose to make this horrendous movie. Stay far away….
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Sissy Spacek turned down the role that went to Diane Keaton. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy (no change from original review)
