Juno (2007)

Juno “Nah… I mean, I’m already pregnant, so what other kind of shenanigans could I get into? ” – Juno

Number of Times Seen – 2 (14 Jan 2008 and 24 Mar 2015)

Brief Synopsis – After a teenager gets pregnant, she must decide what to do with the baby and make the right choices for the direction she wants her life to now follow.

My Take on it – Ellen Page is such an under rated actress.

Being relatively new when this came out she was able to show that even at her age she could carry a film like this with just her charisma and acting ability.

The script by Diablo Cody is very witty and the characters she created feel down to earth and normal that its hard not to love them all no matter what they do.

Some of them are quirky but it’s fun to watch them all grow over the course of the film for better or for worse.

The themes presented dealing with teen pregnancy and parenthood are done extremely well and give us the feeling of supportive characters no matter the situation; basically, the kind of support system we all wish we could have.

Bottom Line – Very interesting perspective on parenthood, teenage pregnancy and looking for true love. Great script with very witty dialogue. Excellent cast that keeps the storyline down to Earth, quirky and fun giving us a very pleasant 100 minutes to spend with this group of people. Highly recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – J.K. Simmons said that he was so impressed with the script that he would have been happy just to play the teacher who has no spoken dialogue – anything to appear in the film.   (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy
