Temporal Top Ten

Hey guys,

 

I decided to start a new series on my site.

Because I’ve seen thousands (literally) of movies in my 41+ years, I’ve decided to try and help you all discover (or rediscover) movies of years past that I feel are the best movies of any given year. (yes, some are guilty pleasures, but we are all entitled to our opinions here) 🙂

The idea is simple – I’m gonna randomly choose a year each time and present you all with my favorite movies from that year.

In addition, I will also list (based on a very educated guess) how many movies I’ve seen that came out during that year along with the names of EVERY one of the titles.

I will be using the IMDB release year in order to remain consistent even if the movie was held back a year before wide release like The Hurt Locker or Crash.

This new series will mainly be used on days when I don’t usually post or when I don’t have a regular movie review to post, but being that I plan to be away for the next week and a half with very limited access to the web, I will present u with a new list every day from tomorrow 1st April until the 12th of April.

I hope to present new lists every Friday and Saturday afterwards.

My research has shown me that I’ve seen on an average around 100 movies from each year since 1980 plus a lot less from years beforehand, so currently, I only plan to do this from 1980 until 2013.  Perhaps when I finish this list, I’ll venture into pre-1980 where maybe I’ll only do a top 5, but I have a long way to go to get there.

This page itself will be used as a starting point with links to each year’s list and as I watch new movies or review previously viewed movies that I have only now started to review.
