Number of movies seen from this year – 146
Number of movies reviewed – 125 (Including 22 Encore Reviews)
Once again, here is a year where my favorites movies span so many genres.
This year features dramas (historical and fictional) a rom-com, action movies, thrillers, two comedy’s with serious tones and even a sports related film.
You will also notice that only 2 Oscar BP nominees appear here. The other three were good movies, but couldn’t break into my top ten.
#1 is such a powerful film that if I ever get to doing a decade top ten, it might very well top the list. It is truly one of the best and most disturbing movies ever made.

What a great year! I’d have Mrs. Doubtfire somewhere on there instead of 3, and I still have yet to see Schindler’s List, but otherwise this would be my list. Excellent taste!

I really enjoyed #3 and I do understand that the violence and language aspects aren’t ur cup of tea. Mrs. Doubtfire was very good, but no good enough IMHO to crack my top ten. I am shocked that u haven’t seen SL. It’s a must despite its heavy theme. Thanks SG

Another number 1 with which I think no disagreement can be made. Schindler’s List is so fantastic. I would probably have Philadelphia a little higher on this list, though, and I think Grumpy Old Men would probably crack any list I compiled for this year. (I didn’t like the Grump Old Men follow-up, but I think the original a comedy of sheer genius.)

Haven’t seen GOM in years. Guess I should revisit it. Yea. This was a very solid year for movies

I haven’t seen it for a long time either. I just remember loving it, even as a teenager when I was nowhere close to the intended audience.
