Number of Times Seen – 2 (21 Aug 2011 and 14 Apr 2015)

Brief Synopsis – In the final part of the series, Harry, Ron and Hermoine must find and destroy the final Horcuxes while the ultimate battle between the forces of good and evil wages at Hogwarts

My Take on it – As I stated in my review of Part I of this movie, I’m glad that it was split into two parts because it allowed for so much exposition to be included.

It truly is fun to watch it all come together after unfolding slowly over the 8 movies (7 books).

I’ve said it before but I have no clue how JKR was able to map this all out so well and leave so few loose ends by the end of close to 19 hours of film and 3400 pages in the books.

The ending is very satisfying and explained well and it was worth the journey to get there despite many bittersweet sequences along the way.

The epilogue at the end helps to give us a bit more information and make sure you pay attention in order to fully grasp it all.

Overall, this is an amazing series of books that were make into very good movies that we will all be able to continue to enjoy reading or watching for many years to come.

Bottom Line – Final part makes it all worth while to watch unfold.  Rowling did a great job mapping it all out and despite missing some of the exposition from the book, this movie gives a satisfying closure to the entire HP saga.  Bittersweet ending, but the epilogue helps. Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Six of the eight ‘Harry Potter’ movies have been nominated for an Oscar totaling twelve nominations in the franchise. This final film in the series was nominated for three Academy Awards in 2012 and since the franchise had never won an Oscar, there was some expectation that this movie would do it. When the film failed to win any of them, it became film history that the ‘Harry Potter’ series never won an Oscar. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy
