Blackhat (2015)

Blackhatposter“This isn’t about money. This isn’t about politics. I can target anyone, anything, anywhere. ” – Elias

Number of Times Seen – 1 (5 May 2015)

Brief Synopsis – An imprisoned master hacker is released in order to track down a deadly terrorist

My Take on it – I enjoy a good modern day cyber-action flick, but not when they are made as poorly as this one was.

I have been looking forward to seeing this for months and was flabbergasted as to how bad this movie was.

Overall, the plot was boring and was moved along so fast it seemed as if they were hoping that we wouldn’t notice how silly it all seems.

The movie uses way too much cyber jargon that within seconds we have no idea what they are talking about. On the other hand, when we do know what they are talking about, it just seems too idiotic to be feasible.

Bottom Line – What a boring cyber-action film. Certain scenes are too technical and others just don’t make any sense. Skip it!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The title “Blackhat” refers to the term that describes a villain (named after the practice of villains in Westerns wearing black hats). In hacking, a black hat hacker will commit cyber-crimes for maliciousness or for personal gain. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy
