Bolt (2008)

bolt“I don’t know what’s going on here, but I’m just a little bit concerned about the number of lunatics on this trip. My limit is *one.* ” – Mittens

Number of Times Seen – 2 (17 Feb 2009 and 8 May 2015)

Brief Synopsis – An ordinary dog that believes he has super powers must journey across the US in order to be reunited with his owner.

My Take on it – This movie will never be counted among the best that Disney has given us over the years, but nevertheless it’s an enjoyable tale with a cute spin to it.

The premise has similarities to the idea of The Truman Show (1998) and I liked how both slowly expanded the character’s realization of what is real and what is not.

Disney films are usually not known for having spectacular action sequences, but this is one of the few that has lots and they are done extremely well.

Bottom Line – Cute and enjoyable Disney film that isn’t among the best, but still worth watching. Liked the Truman show slant to it. Some great action scenes for an animated movie. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – First film to be released on Blu-Ray before DVD (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy

  2. I just can’t picture John Travolta as the voice of a (would-be) hero pup. And Miley Cyrus as the voice of the kid? No wonder I avoided this one. But then again I’m not much of a Disney fan in the first place.
