“I believe the world is a better place if people aren’t lying.” – George
Number of Times Seen – 1 (11 May 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A gay couple, together for 39 years, encounter difficulties in life after they officially get married
My Take on it – I think that one of the reasons that this movie works so well is that its two leads, Alfred Molina and John Lithgow, are both excellent in their roles and work so well together.
They truly make us believe their relationship.
Tgere are scenes where the story drags more than it really should but overall the story is told in a great way.
The characters and script are written in a way where the audience can really understand their plight and feel for the situations they find themselves thrust into.
Bottom Line – Molina and Lithgow are great together. The story drags a bit here and there but is told extremely well. Script and characters are written in a way where we can feel for and understand the situations the couples encounter. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Ben’s (John Lithgow) paintings were crafted by painter Boris Torres, who is also director Ira Sachs’ husband. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
