“Torture? Is this torture to you? Because wow, I guess you’ve never read anything about Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch, because this… this is nothing. ” – Hayley Stark
Number of Times Seen – 2 (12 Nov 2006 and 12 May 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A young girl traps a suspected pedophile in his house in order to get him to admit to her the truth.
My Take on it – This is one of those movies that is written extremely well and is engaging to the viewer but is still quite disturbing material that doesn’t make it for everyone.
The movie is mainly interactions between two characters and Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson both do an amazing job here by themselves with such a great script.
The story is engaging and keeps it interesting all of the way until the very end.
Bottom Line – Great script and dialigue despite it being a very disturbing premise. Wilson and Page are both excellent and are able to hold up the movie just by themselves. Very engaging story. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Some working titles were “Vendetta” and “Snip Snip”. “Hard Candy” was finally chosen because it implies both sweetness and spice. The expression is also slang for an under-aged girl, amongst pedophiles who troll the internet. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy

I found this one a little too uncomfortable to watch. Both lead characters were so awful.
