Temporal Top Ten – 2002

2002

top ten

Number of movies seen from this year – 110
Number of movies reviewed – 93 (Including 6 Encore Reviews)

This year’s list will probably shock many of you because it is headed by 2 amazing, but somewhat obscure movies that most of you probably haven’t seen. Both of them were life changers for me personally and give me added optimism when I feel down.

This list also features 4 sci-fi fantasy blockbusters that you all have heard of and have probably seen multiple times.

My #3 pick is the movie that I think should have won Best Picture at the Oscars instead of the mess that was called Chicago.  It is such an emotional roller-coaster ride and is held together by a completely unknown actor (at the time)

The list also features an amazing Foreign Film (#6), another post 9/11 emotional story (#9) and a fun Alexander Payne feature starring Jack (#10)

Update Jul 2016 – We Were Soldiers is added at #8, pushing two films up and the previous #10 to honorable mention

  2. What’s 9/11 and The Rookie? Also completely agree about The Pianist over Chicago but I’ve stopped giving The Oscars any sort of actual attention as their decisions are so bizarre so,etimes.
