Number of Times Seen – 1 (25 May 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A baby dinosaur gets separated from the heard and must find his way back. Along the way, we meets others that are in a similar situation
My Take on it – This is a movie that I probably should have seen as a kid because then I would most likely have nostalgic thoughts about how great it is instead of finding it overly mediocre.
Most animated films, work on a dual layer whereas this way children and adults can enjoy it on different levels. This movie completely forgoes that and unlike Don Bluth’s other animated features, this one feels like it was made solely for children.
The story itself is long and drawn out despite the movie itself being just a tad bit over an hour.
The animation looks quite archaic and even some of Disney’s animated films from the 40’s, 50’s or 60’s have aged much better than this one did and will.
Since I can appreciate that this is solely a movie for kids, I can’t say that this is a terrible movie, but it is by no means a classic.
(sorry to have ruined anyone’s childhood memories of this film)
Bottom Line – Unlike many animated films, this one doesn’t really work for adults and children alike. Story meanders along and the animation doesn’t age well. Not terrible, but also not so great.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Judith Barsi, who did the voice for Ducky, was murdered by her father four months before the film’s release. Judith was only ten years old. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

First film I have memories of watching. I even had the colouring book. What awful news on the trivia. How dreadful.

Can I still blame you, even though I ruined them myself, with this same movie? When I lay down on the couch and the shrink asks, I need someone to blame.
