Tnx Ruth and Congrats on getting to choose my 1500th milestone review!!!
Number of Times Seen – 1 (28 May 2015)
Brief Synopsis – After writing a successful first novel, a writer must contend with writer’s block, love and her rocky relationship with her father.
My Take on it – First off, I gotta say, I really love the quote above. It says so much about how all of us writers (or aspiring writers) should feel when we are creating new content for our readers to enjoy.
It actually is quite fitting that a movie about writing would randomly be the one chosen as this milestone.
The story itself was interesting, but felt slow at certain points but I enjoyed the relationship dynamics that this movie explores and how it relates to the writing process.
The cast is pretty much filled with completely unknown actors, but in a movie like this it works well that way because we can believe that they are real people and aren’t distracted by a major star being the center of all the action.
Bottom Line – A bit slow at certain points, but as someone who writes, certain things really spoke to me. Great cast of unknowns do a fine job here. This is the kind of movie that needs to be made without a major star who would ultimately distract us from the story. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Both Karen Gillan and Iain De Caestecker went on to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Gillan starred as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), while De Caestecker joined the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013) as Leo Fitz. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
