“On December 31, 2014, a taxicab travels through San Francisco, from Chinatown to San Marin. The car carries a single passenger: a woman, her birth name Adaline Bowman, current alias Jennifer Larson. This is the first and last chapter of her life. ” – Narrator
Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Jun 2015)
Brief Synopsis – After a eomen miraculously cesses to sge, she begins a nomadic life by changing her identity every decade in order to protect her secret.
My Take on it – I knew very little about this movie before I saw it but what little I knew extremely intrigued me.
The story itself completely drew me in from the very beginning mainly because it felt very majestical in the way it was being presenred (yes. The narrator’s frequent interludes helped a lot with that feeling).
Loved the premise and it felt as if it was a cross between The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Time Travelers Wife with a small bit actually reminiscent of the love and aging dilemma in Highlander.
The cast is superb because we can feel a connection to the characters emotions by the way they are all portrayed.
Blake Lively, Kathy Baker, Michel Huisman, Ellen Burstyn and Harrison Ford all give very strong performances.
This feels like a modern day romantic fairy tale which uses fake science (or at least undiscovered science) to create a world of possibility for those willing to stretch their imaginations
Bottom Line – Was so drawn in to the story and the majestical way it was presented. Great idea for a romance that is a cross between Benjamin Button and The Time Travelers Wife with a pinch of a Highlander-type dilemma for love. Great cast led by Lively, Baker, Huisman and Ford. All together it makes for a great modern day fairy tale story. Highly recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Adaline’s ringtone on her cellphone is that of an old-time telephone. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy

I couldn’t agree more my friend. I loved the narration, it really added to the story and wasn’t over the top like some movies can be.

I do, but I totally forgot I have been working on a creative piece that I was waiting for a special day to post. Wednesday night happens to be the night, so I’ve just spent three hours finishing it and editing it. #commitment
Trust me, you’ll enjoy it, even if you were not around for last year’s post.
