This post is in dedication and commemoration of the men who fought and died for freedom on D-Day exactly 71 years ago today.
Number of Times Seen – 2 (18 May 2005 and 3 Jun 2015)
Brief Synopsis – The story of Easy Company and their journey thru Europe during WWII told by the men who were a part of it.
My Take on it – After watching Band of Brothers and getting to know the characters, it was great to see and hear from the real men about what they experienced.
It is actually quite bittersweet knowing that most of the courageous men interviewed are no longer with us since it has been 15 years since they were interviewed for this movie.
It was electrifying to see their emotions, both happy and sad while retelling their tales.
It’s truly amazing how vivid most of their memories are while retelling and recalling events that transpired nearly 60 years earlier.
The bonds that these men forged together truly are amazing to hear about and we all wish we had friends as close as they were able to become during their heroic but horrifying ordeals in Europe during WWII that have lasted a lifetime.
Bottom Line – Sad but electrifying to see these aged men tell us their tale. Sadly, most of them aren’t around anymore since this was compiled 15 years ago. They truly have vivid memories of friends and events from a bit less than 60 years earlier. Highly recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Every time an advance took place, it seemed the Company that was turned to most was Easy. Of course, always being on the front lines, you’re going to have high casualties. Easy sustained 150 percent casualties by the end of the war – that is the number of casualties was 1.5 times the original size of the company. (From Fun Trivia)
Rating – Oscar Worthy
