Number of movies seen from this year – 153
Number of movies reviewed – 165 (including 12 Encore Reviews)
2010 was another great year for movies.
My #1 is once again another Nolan movie which completely blew everyone’s mind when it came out. I know that one day he will he recognized for his imagination and for the way he has injected so many original ideas into the realm of movies. I guess we all will just need to be patient.
My #2 is a miniseries created by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg that was a companion piece to their amazing Band of Brothers. It is a very brutally honest look at how soldiers act and react during a war.
#3 is a Pixar movie that has the distinction of being one of only 3 animated movies ever nominated for Best Picture and it truly was deserving of this recognition.
#4 was the ultimate Best Picture Winner which is a great biopic of a ruler trying to overcome his own issues in order to spread confidence among his people.
#5 is an amazing thriller that all takes place in one cramped space. Truly riveting.
#6 is a heartwarming tale of a father’s journey after his son mysteriously dies in a foreign country.
#7 is one of my favorite sports movies that tells the tale of an award winning horse and its owner.
#8 is a cute teenage love story told from two different perspectives and is very enjoyable to watch.
#9 is a Dreamworks animated movie that does a wonderful job of giving us an adventure during a time long ago along with a very unexpected friendship.
Finally my #10 is the beginning of the end of a beloved magical franchise.
Update 1 Feb 2017 – Death at a Funeral is now #8 on the list, all subsequent entries have been moved down one slot
Honorable Mention – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1

We totally agree on no 1!! And also 9 and 10. And while I probably wouldn’t put Buried on my top 10 I did really enjoy it.

That was a good year for films. I would put How to Train your Dragon a bit higher. I so enjoyed that movie.I think your number 1 is spot on, of course. I never saw flipped nor the Harry Potter series.

I have seen 1,3, 9 and 10. Of them, 1 is actually my least favorite. We’ve talked about that, right?

Inception is an incredible movie and solid no1. I also love that Buried is getting some appreciation. Not enough people have seen it and considering how brutal it is on Reynolds and how he acts, it deserves more recognition than it has.

Nice list, though I think mine would be quite different. But I’m glad we share the same views on Inception 🙂 Mind-blowing and totally inventive. It just keeps you on the edge the whole time. I like Black Swan and The Social Network as well.
