Number of Times Seen – 1 (28 Jul 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A single mother follows her son to LA to try and understand why he wants to dtop out if college and surf all day.
My Take on it – I wanyed to see this becsuse I had heard that Helen Hunt does a wonderful job in this movie.
And that is very true.
Unfortunately, that’s about all of the good things that can be said about this movie.
It meandered along and was pretty boring and at every point where it seemed that was about to get more interesting it just remained mediocre.
Certain plot points were only partially developed and the movie left me with more questions than answers.
The chemistry between Hunt and Luke Wilson was lukewarm and that helos this movie but had the chemistry been even better it would probably have elevated this.
Bottom Line – Pretty boring premise that is slightly elevated by Hunt’s performance. There are certain plot points that aren’t developed enough and leave us with more questions than answers. Hunt and Wilson have ok chemistry that helps this limp by.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Helen Hunt’s 2nd time in the director chair for a feature film. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
