MovieRob Monthly Roundup – August 2015

MovieRob’s Aug

Hi All!

In continuing with this feature, here is a quick roundup on my reviews of this past month – this is a way you can possibly catch up on reviews or announcements that you perhaps missed.

So here it is:

  • Number of Movies reviewed – 50  (click here to see all of August’s Reviews)
  • Number of new movies viewed for the first time – 34

How I rated the movies this month:

  • Oscar Worthy – 20
  • Globe Worthy – 19
  • BAFTA Worthy – 8
  • Razzie Worthy – 3

Thanks again to Steven for choosing such a great and diverse Genre for August

  • In addition to Genre Grandeur, I run a feature called Genre Guesstimation where I review other movies in the monthly GG in order to see whether I think they deserve to be part of my favorites in the given genre!
  • Genre Guesstimation Reviews – 5 (3 Genre Grandeur Worthy)

Thanks to all my loyal followers for helping make this all happen!

BTW,  Genre Grandeur for September (chosen by Sherise) will be Films from the 70’s, so send me your review of your favorite one(s) to 70’ before 25th September in order to take part!   Try to think out of the box!

Looking forward to seeing what you all have in mind!

  • A few months ago, I initiated a new feature where Darren of Movie Reviews 101 and I challenge each other every week to watch a movie of our choice that the other has never seen.

In August, I watched the following movies at Darren’s request for the challenge:

  1. West of Memphis (2012)
  2. School of Life, The (2005)
  3. Hunter, The (2011)
  4. Paperman (2009)

Of these movies, my favorite was West of Memphis (2012)

Thanks Darren for recommending all of these for me 🙂

Hope you all enjoy it!

Have a fantastic month!
