“Why were you ok to take the chapel down?”- Ann
Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Sep 2015)
Brief Synopsis – Three survivors of some kind of apocalyptic event must learn to live together in order to create a new society.
My Take on it – I liked the way that this movie takes the minimalistic approach to an apocalypse.
We learn very little about what happened in the past because the important things are occuring in the present.
There are no zombies or evil people here but even so there is a very personal and emotional enemy that lurks inside us all that can either make or break a buding society of only 3 and they do a wonderful job exploring those aspects here.
There are many scenes that are purposely slow to contrast many other apocolyptic stories; essentially proving that time is not short, but rather an ally in the rebuilding process.
The movie flows extremely well due to the great performances of the sole three actors who carry it all on their own.
Bottom Line – Liked the minimalistic approach that focused on the human and emotional element of creating a new society. Movie is deliberately a bit slow at points which helps emphasize that they are in no rush as long as they manage to survive. Great job by all three leads that help keep the movie flowing. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – After leaving the filming wrap party in Methven, New Zealand, Chris Pine was pulled over by police and charged with drunk driving. He pleaded guilty and was disqualified from driving for six months and ordered to pay $93 in reparation. He was let off a fine after making a sizable donation to charity. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy

I’m curious to see it too. Remember reading the book and wondering if it would ever make the big screen. Drink driving. Sort it out Chris!

I’ve just finished this one. Very interesting (in a good way) and I need to process it a bit first. That’s always a good sign – always appreciate movies that challenge me. That make me think. Refreshing to have a different take on this subject.
