Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Oct 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A young couple traveling in England get lost going to visit a friend and end up in a very unwelcome area.
My Take on it – Despite being a co host of a horror bligathon this month, I’m not really a fan of movies in the horror genre.
When picking my 31 titles, I tried my gardrst to keep within King’s realm of non horror, but inevitably, I knew I’d still get a few horror ones too.
This was my first foray into that field and I had a lot of trouble getting into this story possibly due to that.
I am a fan of movies that help you to believe that what is transpiring on the screen is real within the context of the story and this movie just didn’t lead me down that path.
The characters played by Eion Bailey and Claire Forlani just weren’t strong enough characters to hold this together. For the record, I’m a fan of a lot of their work and this one just didn’t work for me.
Additionally, the effects used here (compared to the effects in the other episodes) seems too fake and that also distracts from the believability of the story for me.
Bottom Line – Too horror -centric for me and I had trouble getting into the story. The effects were terrible and as much as I like Bailey and Forlani, they both just didn’t do a good enough job with this one
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – A song by British black metal/dark ambient band The Axis of Perdition uses excerpts from the story as lyrics.(From Wikipedia)
Rating – Razzie Worthy
