Number of Times Seen – 1 (8 Oct 2015)
Brief Synopsis – When trucks starts to come to life in a small town, the people must try and find a way to stop them.
My Take on it – This is one of my choices that I gotta admit wasn’t high on my watchlist. I had absolutely no expectations for this and it turns out that is a very good things because this really sucked.
When watching a movie, any movie, we want to find some redeeming factor in it and this one has nothing in it.
The story presented is boring and slightly silly and I think that it might have been better if it had somehow incorporated some kind of transformer, but in the end, it just has killer trucks and silly humans who think they can outrun them.
I haven’t seen Maximum Overdrive (1986) which is based on the same story, but I can assume the other is better than this one was.
There are LOTS of better King adaptations out there.
Bottom Line – There isn’t much to say about this movie that would do it any bit of justice. It really is a terrible film and has absolutely no redeeming factors. This might have been better if the trucks would have been some kind of transformers, but alas they weren’t.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The Westway Refrigerated truck, the main adversary, is a Western Star. The Happy Toys truck in “Maximum Overdrive” is also a Western Star. (From IMDB)
Rating – Razzie Worthy
