Brief Synopsis – Doc and Marty travel to 2015 in order to try and stop Marty’s kids from potential disaster.

My Take on it – For anyone who loves the first movie of the series, watching the sequel is such a pleasure because it continues the adventures of Marty and Doc immediately after the final scene of the previous film.

Now that we have reached 2015, we know that most of this movie’s optimistically viewed future predictions were wrong (including the Cubbies winning the World Series, but they did come closer than anyone would have imagined), but that still doesn’t change the story or the fun that we can have while watching this movie.

I have always admired this film for the fact that they weren’t afraid to find ways to parody and make fun of some of the scenes from the first movie that are recreated here.

Some of those recreations were so amazing to watch because they showed the same scenes but from the perspective of other characters.  To my knowledge, this has never been done before or since.  (Let me know if you can think of other examples)

This movie also has the distinction of being the first movie (again, correct me if I’m wrong here too) to actually show coming attractions for its sequel at the end of the movie.  This has now become a norm in franchises, but this was the first time that they did such a thing.

This movie also has one of the best cliffhangers in movie history….

Bottom Line – Great sequel that is so much fun to watch despite getting most of the “future” wrong.  Loved how they weren’t afraid to “poke” a bit of fun at themselves along the way. Amazing re-enactment scenes from different perspectives.  One of the best Movie cliffhangers ever! Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia –  At the school dance, Biff is shown ‘spiking’ the punch with alcohol. In Back to the Future (1985) George is shown drinking the punch before confronting Biff in the parking lot. It may be that George’s uncharacteristic courage in the original scene is attributable to drinking Biff’s spiked punch. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy (no change from original review)
