“I’ve had better days, Jack.” – Hammond
Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Nov 2015)
Brief Synopsis – An American family gets caught in a coup in a Southeastern Asian country and must find a way to get across the border alive
My Take on it – I saw the preview for this a few months back and it looked really good because it seemed like an interesting action film.
The truth is this is more of a thriller than an action movie and it feels as if they tried too hard to make this seem more suspenseful.
Lake Bell and Owen Wilson both have pretty good chemistry together but the truth is they both feel as they don’t belong in this kind of film.
The chaos depicted during the coup is done very well because you can really feel the confusion, bedlam and turmoil during the situation.
Overall, this movie just doesn’t feel as satisfying as one could hope and in the end it just seems too mediocre to enjoy enough.
Bottom Line – Very mediocre film that tries too hard. Bell and Wilson have very good chemistry together but they both seem out of place in a film like this. The chaos of the coup is depicted well but the movie isn’t as satisfying as one would hope.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Michelle Monaghan was originally cast in the lead role but after the movie was delayed, she dropped out due to pregnancy. Lake Bell replaced her. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

Nice review, have to disagree a little though. I was pleasantly surprised. The way you felt about Owen Wilson in this movie, I feel about him in every other comedy he makes. I actually thought this genre suits him well. I didn’t see the trailer to begin with though.
