“We may have a hijack. We have some problems over here right now.… I can’t get a hold of UAL 175 at all right now and I don’t know where he went to.” – Dave Bottiglia
Number of Times Seen – 1 (22 Nov 2015)
Brief Synopsis – Documentary on the fateful trip of Flight 175 which was hijacked and rammed into the World Trade Center on 9/11.
My Take on it – I have always found it interesting how much information we have about many of the events of 9/11, but little is advertised about what happened on the planes that were turned into missiles on that fateful day.
This movie does a thorough job of trying to retrace the steps of what happened on the flight that everyone in the world saw destroy the second tower.
Its impact is the only one that was filmed from numerous angles because the world was busy filming the adjacent tower when this one hit.
This movie tells us some of the stories of the passengers and crew members who were on this flight and also gives us the perspectives of the air traffic controllers who followed its flight progress as the events of that day began to unfold.
The fact that many of those stories are of people in helpless situations make it even more difficult and riveting to watch, yet still essential to know what was known at the time.
I wish that there was even more information available of what really happened on that day in order to give us all an even clearer picture of the events.
Bottom Line – Great retracing of the events of that fateful day leading up to one of the most terrifying terrorist acts ever filmed live. Hearing stories from the men and women who were in contact with the plane and its passengers but were helpless during those fateful minutes was very riveting to hear. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – It covers the final moments of the passengers and crew on board United Airlines Flight 175, which was the second commercial airliner to strike the World Trade Center, impacted with the South Tower, and was the most visually documented (both photographed and filmed) flight during the September 11 attacks (From Wikipedia)
Rating – Globe Worthy
