Darren and Rob’s Movie Challenge Week #22 – Rob’s Challenge – The Dead (2010)

Being that Darren and I both love watching lots and lots of movies, we decided to start a new weekly series where we challenge each other to watch a new movie that we enjoyed and feel the other one might also.

The rules are simple; it has to be a movie we have NEVER seen, (not just not reviewed)

For my review this week, here are my thoughts on…..

“You saved my life! ” – Brian Murphy

Number of Times Seen – 1 (1 Dec 2015)

Brief Synopsis – An American soldier is stranded in Africa after a Zombie outbreak must try to get across the continent in order to survive.

My Take on it – As many of you already know, I am not a fan of horror movies at all, but for some reason, I have begun to appreciate the zombie genre over the last few years and am a HUGE fan of The Walking Dead TV show.

Unfortunately, I found this movie extremely boring and didn’t care at all what would happen to any of the characters.

The opening scene started the movie well, but once that was over, so was any excitement or anticipation for something good and interesting.

Perhaps part of it has to do with the fact that this is a very low budget film, but even low budget films need characters you can care about, a script worth following and dialogue that makes things interesting.

This movie has absolutely none of that.

Bottom Line – A very disappointing zombie movie IMHO. I found the acting too bland, the dialogue boring and there was little “meat” to the whole storyline.
