Pan (2015)

pan“If you don’t believe, Peter, then neither will they. ” – Tiger Lily

Number of Times Seen – 1 (14 Dec 2015)

Brief Synopsis – The origin story of how Peter Pan first came to Neverland.

My Take on it – I know that this movie was totally ‘panned’ by so many crtics, but I actually found it enjoyable.

They did a really nice job creating an “origins” story from the information we know about the myth of Peter Pan because they incorporated so many of the aspects that we all know and love about the characters in Neverland.

This movie has lots of action and adventure and has a lot of fun things to look out for along the way which is obviously what one should expect from a film like this.

My one sort-of complaint is that the characters and structure of the story had too many somewhat blatant similarities to that of the Star Wars movies which is flattering to them, but feels old hand here.  My full analysis on this includes spoilers, so shoot me an email if you want the full thoughts on it.

Not perfect (how many movies really are?). but still fun to watch.

Bottom Line – I liked the way this story was told.  Has a bit too many blatant similarities in structure and in characters from the Star Wars movies.   Enjoyed the way that they incorporated so many aspects of the Pan lore into the storyline.  Lots of fun action and adventure which is what one would expect from this kind of movie. Not as much of a mess as so many reviewers have claimed, but still not perfect either. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Levi Miller won a drama award when he was 5 years old for playing Peter Pan. He loves the film Peter Pan (2003) (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy
