“Nobody tells you that it’s terrifying to love something so much.” – Laney
Number of Times Seen – 1 (15 Dec 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A look into the life of a married woman who has hit rock bottom and tries to reconcile her life.
My Take on it – Wow!
Sarah Silverman gives an amazing performance in this movie.
I have been used to seeing her in comedies (or on a youtube video about Matt Damon)
But I never expected to see her gives such a powerful dramatic performance like this.
Her character really doesn’t know what she wants in life and we can feel her emotional upheaval throughout the movie.
It’s great watching all of the ups and downs because it doesn’t give us a clear direction as to where this film is leading us and we constantly get surprised by everything that happens.
I’m glad she was nominated for a SAG award for this role and hope that she takes more dramatic risks like this in the future because then we can all see how truly great an actress she really is.
Bottom Line – Silverman is excellent here as a woman who really doesn’t know what she wants in life. Very intriguing to watch her ups and downs because we really don’t know where the story will lead us. She makes this movie so interesting to watch and can no longer be considered just a comedienne. Recommended!
