“So. Book. Check. And blind date? Check! ” – Jack
Number of Times Seen – 1 (16 Dec 2015)
Brief Synopsis – A lonely woman ends up taking someone else place on a blind date and must try to keep up the lie when she starts to like the guy.
My Take on it – I have only heard fun things about this movie and after having seen it, all I can say it that I concur completely.
Tess Morris has managed to write a great rom-com that keeps us laughing throughout but we also find that we emotionally connect with the characters.
The castng of Simon Pegg and Lake Bell in the two main roles were great because they both can show us such a wide range of emotions which helps us to connect and relate to their characters.
They both help inject new life into the modern rom-com and at the same time keep us constantly laughing at their antics.
I really liked the way that this movie starts off using the regular style used in rom-coms, but about half way through, made a complete 180 degree turn to change things up.
Bottom Line – Fun and down to Earth rom-com that is perfectly cast with Pegg and Bell. They help inject new life into the modern rom-com and the viewer will find themselves laughing over and over at everything along the way. Loved the way they started with the usual rom-com style but broke the mold half way through. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Simon Pegg reported that Lake Bell stayed in character even when not before the camera, so it wasn’t until photography was done and she thanked the assembled crew that they realized she wasn’t English. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy

I thought it was fun, by two very comedic actors. Really like how they made it clear they both weren’t young anymore. That trivia is awesome.
