Chronicle is a wide-ranging Found Footage entry with a decent reason for its footage to exist. The performances are great. Equal parts abusive home, cool friendships, and a disastrous mix of superpowers with emotional rage.
Three high-schoolers get exposed to a strange energy source and acquire ever-increasing telekinetic powers. It knits three boys together who likely would not have been friends to begin with. Handled pretty impressively.
A drunk and abusive father, though, pushes one too far and things go terribly wrong. As all the characters are so genuine, the narrative is always emotionally effective. Combined with great CGI sequences and effects – it’s a solid FF entry.

Ol’ Chronicle. I know a lot of people really went for this one but I found it to be predictable and a little clunky. It definitely offered a unique perspective though.

I really liked this but I thought the ending let it down a bit.
