So that means that I now have started to prepare for the next big milestone – 2000 reviews.
I must admit that I loved doing them because I was newly exposed to so many films that I had never even heard of beforehand.
For this milestone, I was considering doing something similar, but due to the fact that these review numbers will offer me the unique opportunity to watch movies from the same year as the numbered review (1993th review can be a movie released in 1993, my 2000th review can be one released in 2000, etc.), I wanted to go in a slightly different direction:
In the end, I want to do something similar but also simple.
I would like to have each of you choose a movie for me to watch…but I’m gonna randomly choose which year you must pick the movie from.
Please let me know by 20th Jan, by email – (firstname.lastname@example.org), by twitter (@realmovierob) or just by leaving a comment below if you’re interested in participating.
I will then place all of your names in a hat and randomly choose for each of you a release year (probably between 1980-2015, but it all depends on the amount of responses I get) that I would like a movie recommendation from.
Once you are “assigned” a year, it’s actually quite simple, just check out my list of reviewed movies here or via my Temporal Top Ten series and think of a movie that I haven’t yet reviewed which you think I’ll enjoy and send me by EMAIL (email@example.com) a movie title that you would like me to review. (Please don’t post titles in the comments so that your choices can be just between us)
This isn’t SHITFEST, so I hope and expect that you will choose a movie* that you think I’ll enjoy.
I’d prefer if you can steer away from horror movies and foreign language films.
So as I said, It’s real simple, just send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll start filling up the hat.
Anyone and everyone is invited to participate!
Thanks again to everyone for all of your support and I’m looking forward to this great event! ~Rob
* – I have veto power if I see that I can’t get a hold of the movie to watch eventhough my options are vast.
