Cahill U.S. Marshall (1973)

cahill“Mister, I ain’t got a bigoted bone in my body. You don’t drop that axe I’ll blast you to hell as quick as I would a white man. ” – JD Cahill

Number of Times Seen – 1 (13 Jan 2016)

Brief Synopsis – A US Marshall tries to figure out who murdered the local sheriff and robbed the bank

My Take on it – When John Wayne made this movie, he was well past his prime as an actor and watching this, it really shows.

The storyline itself is very average and completely uninteresting to follow.

It drags on too much and might have been better off being used as a TV show episode instead.

Wayne himself claimed outright that he didn’t care for this film…and it unfortunately shows.

Bottom Line – Wayne was beyond his prime when he made this.  The story is really mediocre and drawn out. I completely understand why Wayne himself didn’t care much for this one.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – John Wayne told an interviewer he gave up caring about the movie halfway through filming when he learned that John Ford was dying of cancer. (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy
