The Benefactor (2015)

benefactor “All I want is what’s best for your family.” – Franny

Number of Times Seen – 1 (17 Jan 2016)

Brief Synopsis – A friend of her deceased parents comes back into the life of a young woman after she gets married and she tries to figure out why he wants to help her so much.

My Take on it – I knew nothing about this movie before watching it and in some ways I still feel as if I know nothing about it.

The plot is so strange and in the end it raises so many more questions about the behavior of the characters and doesn’t provide many answers.

In the end, because everything is so crazy, I don’t even mind that there were so little answers because I just didn’t care.

This seems to me to be just another example of actors agreeing to be in movies before reading the script and not caring whether they will be making something good or not.

At least both the viewer and the actors agree that there isn’t much to care about.

Bottom Line – Mess of a movie that leaves more questions than answers.  Unfortunately, we don’t care much for the answers because very little makes proper sense. Not sure why actors choose to make movies like this before they actually read the script.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Filmed entirely in Pennsylvania with many scenes in Philadelphia.  (From IMDB)

Rating – Razzie Worthy
