The Fireman (1916)

Number of Times Seen – 1 (24 Jan 2016)

Brief Synopsis – A young fireman who can never get anything right must find a way to prove himself

My Take on it – In my quest to try and watch more of Carlie Chaplin’s films, I came across this one where he plays a fireman who keeps getting in trouble.

I can’t say that there is anything remarkable in this one that makes it stand out from the rest of his great movies because he truly was a master at doing slapstick in any story that he created.

This is no exception to that rule.

The story itself is generic (as always), but the comedy stands out along with the rest of his work as being very funny.

Bottom Line – Another fun Chaplin film that once again shows that he was able to add hi-jinx and slapstick to any story. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The film shows some early day street scenes in the surrounding Los Angeles area. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy
