Brief Synopsis – A group of criminals band together in order to stop an evil warlord from destroying a peaceful planet
My Take on it – Certain movies hit a special chord in you and you can never get enough of them.
For me, this is one of those special kind of films.
This was the 5th time I watched it and I actually can’t wait to see it again soon.
As far as The Marvel Universe films go, this is by far my favorite and I can’t wait to see how it is tied in to the others.
The worlds that this movie creates really feel “lived in” and “dirty” that we can imagine places like these really existing. (similar to what was done in the original Star Wars Trilogy).
This film gets so much right; it’s action-packed, filled with interesting and diverse characters that all have lots of future potential, it’s mildly humorous which gives it enough flare and the ideas feel very fresh, innovative and original.
This movie has one of the best soundtracks and I find myself humming (or even singing) many of the songs long after the movie has ended!
I really am anticipating the upcoming sequel (in 2017) and I can’t wait to once again see this one when I get the chance.
Bottom Line – Great sci-fi film that really raises the bar on the whole Marvel universe films. This is action-packed, fresh, funny and has some great characters with lots of future potential. Excellent soundtrack that sticks with you long after the movie ends. The worlds created feel “lived in” and “dirty” and could be real places somewhere in the galaxy. Can’t wait for the sequel and also an opportunity to see this again. Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Chris Pratt apparently stole his Star Lord costume from the set, for the sole purpose of having it available so he could show up in costume to visit sick children in the hospital who might want to meet Star Lord. (From IMDB)
Rating – Oscar Worthy (no change from original review)
