Number of Times Seen – 1 (25 Jan 2016)
Brief Synopsis – The Tramp gets a new job as a janitor and inadvertently gets involved in a scam to defraud the company
My Take on it – Once again, I watched another Chaplin movie in order to expand my Chaplin knowledge and once again I was impressed with teh result.
Chaplin was such a master at creating slapstick and he knew how to create situations that could be easily misconstrued and ultimately create hilarity.
I can’t say this is one of his best, but it still is quite funny.
The plot itself is once again somewhat generic, but he was able to form a great comedic movie around this plot.
Bottom Line – Another fun comedy by Chaplin where he uses his usual slapstick and miscommunications to get us to laugh over and over. Once again, not his very best, but still quite humorous. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – During the making of this film, Chaplin discovered that he had a talent of injecting real emotional power into his work. That proved plain when an observing actress began weeping during shooting at the pathos of a scene where the fired janitor is pleading with his boss to get his job back. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
