This is my 1,986th movie review
Thanks to Kieron for recommending this film to me!
“New Orleans is a marvelous environment for coincidence. ” – Lamar
Number of Times Seen – 2 (cable in the 80’s and 4 Feb 2016)
Brief Synopsis – A New Orleans detective and Assistant District Attorney team up to try and uncover corruption in the police department.
My Take on it – This is one of the few movies that I have agreed to rewatch for this Movies From The Hat endeavor. I haven’t seen it in years and didn’t remember much besides the very steamy scenes between the two leads.
Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin were both great choices for their roles and I can understand why they both seem to be having such a great time playing their roles.
The plot itself is somewhat lacking and feels a bit too predictable and generic but despite that, it’s still enjoyable.
Some of the characters here were created extremely well and then given spectacular dialogue for us to enjoy.
This is not my favorite Quaid movie, but it’s still extremely well done and fun.
Bottom Line – Quaid and Barkin are great and steamy together. Plot is somewhat generic and predictable, but still enjoyable. Some great characters help deliver some great dialogue that was written very well. Not perfect, but still quite good. Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – According to Robert Redford, this was the first film ever “sold” at a Sundance Film Festival. (From IMDB)
Rating – Globe Worthy
