Horrible Bosses (2011)

“You don’t put a playground next to a bar. That’s entrapment. ” – Dale hb

Number of Times Seen – 1 (29 Mar 2016)

Brief Synopsis – Three friends who all hate their bosses decide to think of a scheme to get rid of them once and for all

My Take on it – This is a movie that I actually had little desire to see until a month ago, my dentist (who knows I like movies) impressed upon me that I MUST see this hilarious movie.

I now know why he insisted that I see this and I’m quite sure that his form of dentistry is different than the Dentistry methods used by the character portrayed by Jennifer Aniston in this film…I hope 🙂

This movie really was hilarious and some of the scenes are so absurd that they are even funnier because of it.

I liked the casting choices all around here because all 6 main characters were portrayed really well.  Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis are all great as the 3 “employees” and Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey are equally great as the “bosses”.

I found some of scenes really funny and couldn’t stop laughing no matter how hard I tried (ok, I didn’t really, but hey) :0

Jamie Foxx has a great expanded cameo here and I liked his character.  The funniest part for me was when he mentioned the movie Snow Falling on Cedars (1999) because I had just watched it coincidentally right before watching this film. (What are the odds of that actually happening…seriously).

I am definitely glad that I finally saw this because it really shows relevance to the way many offices are run in today’s day and age.

Bottom Line – Very funny movie that is so absurd that it makes things even funnier. The three main characters are all superbly played by Bateman, Sudeikis and Day and the three bosses are equally deviously played by Aniston, Farrell and Spacey.  There are some scenes that are just so funny that you can’t stop laughing.  Loved the cameo by Foxx for numerous reasons. Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – While director Seth Gordon encouraged most actors to improvise their lines in various scenes, Jennifer Aniston stated she did not need to because her lines were “beautifully choreographed”. (From IMDB)

Rating – Globe Worthy
