Number of Times Seen – 1 (9 May 2016)
Brief Synopsis – Fearing that his daughter will leave Transylvania, Dracula tries to prove that his half breed grandson is more monster than human.
My Take on it – I’ve never been the biggest fan of Adam Sandler’s movies and here is another one that fits right in with my beliefs.
This movie is much more geared towards kids than adults and my son was cracking up the whole time we watched it.
I, on the other hand, didn’t find much of this film very interesting at all.
As many of you already know, I happen to be a fan of most types of movies and have no problem with animation.
The problem here is that unlike Disney or Pixar films, this one doesn’t really have the added layer for adults to also enjoy, it’s purely for the kids, hence, lots of silliness.
The bottom line though is that Sandler and Crew deliver what we expect from them, no more no less and that in and of itself is pretty much a disappointment in its own right.
I had hopes that with Mel Brooks contributing here, things would be slightly better, but unfortunately they aren’t….
Bottom Line – Unlike Disney and Pixar films, this one is solely geared towards kids and doesn’t really offer much for adults. Sandler and crew deliver exactly what is expected and unfortunately that’s not saying too much.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – Jonathan and Mavis go to Santa Cruz, CA to live with humans, the real life location that The Lost Boys (1987) (a vampire movie) was filmed. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
