Superman/Batman Apocalypse (2010)

superman-batman “Well? Did you come here to sightsee or fight? ” – Batman

Number of Times Seen – 1 (6 Jun 2016)

Brief Synopsis – Superman and Batman must fight off a deadly foe after Superman’s cousin Kara arrives on Earth

My Take on it – As a fan of the DC/WB collaborative animated movies, I had much higher hopes for this one.

I liked the way that they teamed up Batman and Superman in an attempt to once again show that despite their characters having different methods for fighting their enemies and ensuring justice in society, their goals are one in the same.

I must say that I’ve never really been the biggest fan of Darkseid and the way he was portrayed here didn’t endearing him to me any more.

The fact that The Dark Knight and The Man of Steel have such different tactics when fighting their enemies has helped them work together as a team and they do it very well here.

The story feels a bit average here and there are so many much better DC/WB animated movies to chose from.

Bottom Line – Not as good as some of the other DC/WB animated movies that I’ve seen recently.  Not the biggest fan of Darkseid and I didn’t like the way he was portrayed here. Still loved the camaraderie between The Dark Knight and man of Steel and their true friendship is shown extremely well.  Their different fighting tactics also help make this a bit better to watch despite it still feeling quite average.

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – When Kara and Superman are speaking Kryptonian it’s actually Esperanto, an international constructed language similar to German. (From IMDB)

Rating – BAFTA Worthy
