“She wasn’t looking for that guy anymore. She was… she was looking for me, for the Bob. But, uh, by the time I figure this all out, it was too late, man. She moved on, and all I had to show for it was some foolish pride, which then gave way to regret. She was the girl, I know that now. But I pushed her away. So, I’ve spent every day since then chasing Amy… so to speak. ” – Silent Bob

Brief Synopsis – A comic book writer meets the girl of his dreams and due to complications in her life, they instead become best friends. Is that enough tho???
My Take on it – This is by far my favorite movie in the View Askew series.
From the very first time I saw this, I was hooked and loved the way that friendship and love is described by the characters on screen because it all seems so real and genuine that I could imagine myself wanted to be in such a friendship.
The script and dialogue by Director Kevin Smith is nearly perfect and keeps us hooked to the characters and their situations.
The cast led by a young Ben Affleck and Jason Lee is great, but the real star here is Joey Lauren Adams who is superb here and Steals every scene she is in.
It’s quite a shame that she hasn’t been more successful since this movie.
Smith has stated that much of the script was based on his own relationship with Adams and that really helps make this feel even more real.
Jay and Silent Bob only have a one scene cameo in this film, but IMHO it’s their best scene from the entire series.
Bottom Line – This is my favorite of all of the View Askew movies. The characters and their relationships feel so genuine. The dialogue is perfectly scripted. Great cast, but Adams shines as the best here. The cameo by Jay and Silent Bob is their best scene from the entire series. The fact that Smith based this in part on his relationship with Adams helps make this feel so real. Highly Recommended!
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This film was reportedly just two votes away from an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, according to Kevin Smith’s podcast. (From IMDB)
