Stealing_home_(1988) “I love you, Billy boy! ” – Katie

Number of Times Seen – more than 10 times (Cable, video, DVD and 17 Jul 2016)

Brief Synopsis – An aspiring baseball player looks back on important parts of his life after being charged with disposing of the ashes of a good friend

My Take on it – To me, this film is such an inspirational one because it helps a character retrace important moments in his life in order to find a deeper meaning.

The whole cast is spectacular and help this inspirational story find even more meaning.

Mark Harmon, Jodie Foster, Jonathan Silverman,  Harold Ramis, Blair Brown, John Shea and William McNamara are all perfectly cast in their respective roles.

I was actually quite surprised to see Richard Jenkins here. It goes to show that some supporting actors have been around for so long and continue to do stellar work throughout their whole career.

This movie’s soundtrack and theme song always get me to tear up because I find them both so emotional.

Bottom Line – Superb movie about reliving important events in ones life that helped get you to where you are today. Foster, Harmon, Silverman, Ramis, Shea, Brown and McNamara are all spectacular and inspirational. Amazing soundtrack and theme song always makes me tear up watching this. Loved seeing Jenkins pop up here which shows how long he has been doing small parts in films. Highly Recommended!

MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This movie was reportedly based on the real-life experiences of its writers, former Second City troupe members and WKRP in Cincinnati writers Steven Kampmann and William Porter. (From IMDB)

Rating – Oscar Worthy
