“Think of me when you drink tea. ” – David
Number of Times Seen – 1 (18 Jul 2016)
Brief Synopsis – An American pilot during WWII falls in love with a married British nurse who doesn’t know how to decide between her family or her love.
My Take on it – I came across this film when I noticed that it starred a young Harrison Ford and was quite interested in seeing how he fared between his two iconic breakouts as Han Solo and Indiana Jones.
Unfortunately, this film is pretty lackluster and instead of giving us a good story featuring a love triangle and some war scenes, it all feels pretty mediocre.
Ford and Christopher Plummer are both pretty good here but Lesley Anne Down is the weak link in the love triangle.
The plot is pretty overbearing and slightly predictable which takes away from the suspense aspect of it all
Bottom Line – Found this to be more lackluster than expected. Ford and Plummer are both quite good, but the love triangle doesn’t work so well because Down is a weak link between them. Slightly predictable with a plot that is a bit overbearing.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – This movie has become a favorite amongst aviation aficionados despite the fact that upon initial release, it bombed at the box-office and was generally disliked by critics. (From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy
