This is my 2462nd Review
Thanks to SG of Rhyme and Reason for this recommendation.
Here are his thoughts on the film.
“Who’s bad? Sinbad! ” – Sinbad
Number of Times Seen – 1 (28 Aug 2016)
Brief Synopsis – An animated version of Sinbad’s voyages to save his best friend the Prince when he is framed by a goddess.
My Take on it – This movie is one that probably should have been better than it is and the truth is that I’m a bit baffled by it and by many of the decisions made by those who made this film.
The story seems a bit rushed and doesn’t give us enough time to digest things before it moves along to the next stage.
The animation is drawn very well and it was nice and refreshing looking at the landscapes.
The voice cast is superb with Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joseph Fiennes and Michelle Pfieffer doling wonderful jobs with their characters while also making things a bit more interesting.
The problem that I see here though is the fact that the storyline and plot lack the draw that most Disney and PIXAR films manage to achieve in order to get both kids and adults in the seats.
It’s no wonder then that the original idea of making a franchise was nixed even before the film was made in order to try and cram numerous stories into one.
Bottom Line -The animation is drawn pretty well here. Nice voice cast helps make this more interesting than it should be. I can understand why this movie didn’t do as well as it could have because it lacks a draw to both kids and to adults like most Disney films manage to achieve.
MovieRob’s Favorite Trivia – The last Hand Drawn Animated film from Dreamworks.(From IMDB)
Rating – BAFTA Worthy

I didn’t even realize this was an animated one. Probably a bad sign.

You seem to agree with most critics when it was released. It’s not Disney, but it’s still a shame that DreamWorks has abandoned traditional animation since. I always like to promote my underrated favorites so thanks for giving it a shot!
